Now you who are not Jewish are not foreigners or strangers any longer, but are citizens together with God's holy people. You belong to God's family. You are like a building that was built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the most important stone in that building, and that whole building is joined together in Christ. He makes it grow and become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Christ you, too, are being built together with the Jews into a place where God lives through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22 (NCV)
As most moms who homeschool their children, we set goals dependent upon our children and their abilities, ages, etc. One of our goals this year is to improve reading and writing skills for our special needs daughter, with the ultimate goal of having the ability to text members of her family.
Today, we started a "Holly Hobbie Journal". She has started out just writing simple sentences - about her day, the weather, etc. As the year progresses, we will build on these skills but for today, I was thrilled because most of the words, she could write and spell all by herself. Counting my blessings today and knowing that without God's guidance, this would not be possible.
Stay tuned ... someday this might be the next "best seller" - Our Holly Hobbie Homeschool Journal.
